GREAT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROJECT

The GREAT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROJECT is designed for language schools with students over the age of 7.

Great Escape Rooms Thessaloniki invites you to apply experiential learning in the most entertaining way and offer your students an escape room experience that combines Experiential Learning with learning the English language.

Experiential Learning” is an alternative method of education—learning through experience, or as it is also called, “learning through the reflection on doing.” The theory of experiential learning emphasizes the essential role that experience plays in the learning process, going beyond desks, sterile classroom environments, and traditional frontal teaching. Distinguished philosophers such as John Dewey, Kurt Lewin, and Jean Piaget have highlighted the dynamic contribution of experiential learning to educational programs.

The benefits are highly valuable for students, as they directly engage with the subject they are exploring and develop their cognitive skills, their spirit of collaboration and teamwork—in other words, they learn how to function as a group and cooperate in the best possible way to achieve their goal. At the same time, they practice the English language in a realistic environment with real-life conditions.

Great Escape Rooms Thessaloniki gives you the opportunity to provide this kind of experience to your students in the city’s most interactive escape rooms, specially adapted to the English language and designed around themes that can even be incorporated into your school curriculum.

GREAT Experiential Learning Project

How is it organized?

  1. Students are divided into groups (preferably according to their class level) and, together with their teachers, enter the themed escape rooms. They have one hour to escape and complete the mission assigned to them.
  2. All riddles and clues are given in English. In this way, children both enjoy the activity and practice the language on a practical level by applying Experiential Learning.
  3. During the game, the academic director has the option of audiovisual monitoring through the company’s system, gaining constructive insights into the skills and abilities of their teaching staff.
  4. After the game, the reception area is available for group photos as a souvenir.

The overall outcomes of the experience can later be reflected in class, either as a project, a Speaking activity, or a Writing task. Since the students have already lived through something unique, they will be able to process it more easily, confidently, and of course, with greater enthusiasm.

Offer your students an experiential learning opportunity at a highly affordable cost and become pioneers in the field of education with the GREAT Experiential Learning Project by GREAT ESCAPE!
